Over time these pages will reflect most of the marine life that is visible to shallow free divers, snorkelers and tide-poolers. The majority of these images were taken at low tide in the Southern Gulf islands of the Salish Sea — the area settlers once described as the Georgia Strait and Juan de Fuca/San Juan Islands.  There is a focus on invertebrates (especially sea slugs — nudibranchs, bubble shells, sea hares, sacoglossans etc), jellies and comb jellies  If you click on the title caption in images below, you will be taken to pages which open into further images and information about the individual species. Better yet, return to the drop down pages for more comprehensive links.
