This is a very rare and beautiful jelly to find in a shallow cove off of Pender Island, British Columbia. Or anywhere. They are considered a deep water species, found in the Eastern Pacific from California to British Columbia. Currently there are only two reports of this jelly on inaturalist, both found in the Salish Sea in 2025. This animal was about 4 cms, but it is known to grow to twice that size.
