This page is meant to be a quick reference for those looking to identify Salish Sea sea slugs and snails that do not fall into the larger category of nudibranch. Most have shells — some visible and others cloaked in a mantle. The exception is the Sea Angel, which loses its shell within a few days of hatching. I will be setting up an individual sight for marine snails in the future — as I go through old photos and have time. Meanwhile, two of the mollusks pictured below fall under the sea snail category: the Stearn’s Ear Shell and Lewis’s Moonsnail. The Olive Sapsucker (Hermea oliviae) and the Brown-streaked Sapsucker, Stiliger fuscovittatus are both sacaglossans — explanations of how super powered these tiny sea slugs are.
